OK – What is ahead for 2013? I have had a lot of feedback encouraging me to keep the same elements in my blog, and that is my plan. I will be doing everything I have been doing this year – just to a smaller degree. There’s no way I can continue with 3 posts a day. My goal is 1 post a day with some leniency if I don’t make it some days. Some people have suggested I have certain days where you always know what to expect, like Monday = recipe day and Tuesday = character development day. I think my brain is a tad too scattered to be so systematic. Also, I want to take the pressure off a bit. Maybe I don’t have a parenting tip available for Wednesday. Therefore, I have decided to have all the components but at random. My plan for character development is to work on the same trait we were working on a year ago. Therefore, we started on January 1st with perseverance. We will begin the first week of January with perseverance. It would be a great time for you to jump on board with the character development series. I will be doing the same word, scripture and “I Will” statements. I will add on with new thoughts and lessons. I’ll probably provide a couple add-ons to character development each week. Beyond that, I will carry on with crafts, activities, parenting tips recipes, cakes, parties and more as things arise or as I intentionally add them into our lives.
I know this year will continue to be a lot of fun. Maybe posting less will make it more manageable for you to stop by here daily too. I love having parents along for this journey with me. Blessings on 2013.
What’s the Plan for Meaningful Mama in 2013?
January 2, 2013 by 7 Comments
A lot of people have asked me, “Will Meaningful Mama continue after your 365 days are up?” I thought I would take a moment today and let you know how I’m thinking of as I move forward with Meaningful Mama.
First, I want to take a moment to thank you for checking in here. I feel very honored that you would take the time to come to my corner of the web and engage in the heart of this blog. I have received some emails and encouragement from some of you out there, and it is one of the things that puts gas in my tank. Thank you. It is so encouraging to know that parents are being inspired and making changes in their own parenting. I want you to know that I am in this to serve God, serve my family and serve you. I have said to quite a few people, “If it’s all about a few crafts, recipes, cakes and party ideas, this isn’t really for me.” I am encouraged that many of you have grabbed onto the heart of the blog – parenting, character development and learning more about Jesus. It’s been a crazy year. 1182 post later, I am really happy I have done it. I love being more intentional in my own parenting. I still have work to do, believe me. However, I can feel good that I am engaging more and trying to be more present. I am happy the kids are still enjoying everything – activities, crafts, cooking and character development. I am thrilled to see some of the fruits from all of our work on character. Yes, of course we have a ways to go. It will be a lifetime of learning for them and for me. However, when I see words and actions that warm my heart, I think that maybe I’m doing something right. Again, thank you for being on this journey with me.

Way to go, Jodi! I am so proud of you for your dedication to this project (and your children).
I am really glad you decidided to continue and I like your idea of how you are going to go forward with it. You are an awesome mom, “niece” and friend. Happy New Year!!

Jodi – I think it sounds like a lovely plan for 2013! Your blog is amazing and you have put a tremendous amount of love, energy, heart and passion into it. What an incredible resource for other moms.
Yah – you rock!
I’m a little late to the game…it’d be great if there was a way to go through everything from 2012 again this year. Honestly, I’d never be able to do each item every day but maybe over five years? You betch ya!
Never late. Glad you found me. I am looking into ways to make my site a bit more easy to navigate. I’m trying to add a list of all my character development activities under the new ones I am creating. You could read parenting tips with your cup of morning coffee. I’m just glad you are here. Thanks for taking an interest! Jodi
