Every Wednesday morning I have been meeting with a small group of moms from my child’s school. The goal is to lift up our kids, their school and pray for them in any way that comes to our hearts. Moms in Prayer International gives a great format for guiding prayer groups in this way. If you don’t have a group to join, you can easily start one. Please visit their website if this appeals to you. They have a weekly prayer sheet with a stated attribute about God. Then, you read scriptures about that attribute. The attribute this week was “God is our purpose,” and we focused on Proverbs 19:21, Ephesians 1:11-12 and Philippians 2:13. Then, we go into times of private confession, out loud thanksgiving for what God has done, a time of intercession to pray for our own children, a time of prayer for teachers and staff and then a section for any other concerns or praises about what is going on in the schools. It is structured beautifully, and if can give you a set aside time each week to focus on God and placing it all in his hands. It’s been a big blessing for me this year to be able to have this time of fellowship.
