I am starting to have discussions about discipline with Abigail. You can gauge if this would work with your individual children. Kids often have a pretty good intuition about how the punishment fits the crime. They will often give themselves a greater discipline than you will. At that point, you can choose to go with their idea or be the good guy and lessen it. Taking ownership over their discipline can aid in helping them take ownership over their behavior.
