Day #285 Consistency in Life – Character Development, Week #41

Consistency
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadiest, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” – 2 Corinthians 15:58

I want my kids to understand what consistency looks like in different aspects of their lives, so today we looked at consistency in our relationship with God, our relationship with others, our behavior, our house work and our school work. I made a table on a piece of paper. On one side I wrote those areas of life, and on the other side I had them draw pictures of what that looked like to them. I made a printable so it would be easy for you. We also talked about what it looked like in these different areas. I am embarrassed that I left the most important one, God, off their sheets to color, but we still talked about it. We decided we could be consistent with God by praying, serving others, going to church and reading the Bible. In our relationships, we are consistent in the right way when we learn to listen, not interrupt, care, be friendly, smile and say hello and by sharing. We are consistent in the right way in our behavior when we have a happy heart, obey, listen and take care of our things. Consistency is found in house work when we clean, have a happy heart, not make a big mess in the first place and have one toy out at a time. Finally, we are consistent in our school work when we try hard, have a happy heart and have patience.
