Persuasiveness
“And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.” – 2 Timothy 2:24
Today we stole a passage from the Bible to talk about persuasiveness. We looked at Matthew 10 and Jesus sending his disciples out into the world to teach the gospel. He doesn’t hold back on what they will encounter and how they should respond. Part of that includes Him telling the disciples to be as “wise as snakes and innocent as doves.” You want a balance of having the words to say as well as knowing how to present things above reproach. You want your words to be wise like a snake but your demeanor to be peaceful and pure as a dove. I think this command is true when it comes to learning to be persuasive. I try and teach my kids that the way they approach someone weighs heavily on how they will respond. We looked at the passage, specifically the snake and dove part. I explained what it all meant, and we headed into the crafts.
Snake Craft
My spiral paper plate craft inspired this project. All I did was take a piece of construction paper and drew a spiral – starting in from the center and out until I drew a head.
I just had them color the snake however they wanted, and we cut it out on the spiral. To finish it off, we glued on google eyes.
Hand and Feed Dove Craft
I traced the girls hands and feet. Then, I cut them out.
The girls were able to glue the hands and feet onto a grey piece of paper. They also glue on a beak and a google eye. I got this idea from Crafty Crafted.
