Day #239 Tip – Use Music Psychology

Music has a powerful effect on people. There’s a whole psychology behind it. If you are leading a large group of kids in music that then leads into a talk, you start with the high energy, fun, crazy music and gradually bring it down to the quiet, soft songs. Let the power of music aid in your parenting. If you want to clean, add fun music to pep up the experience. There’s a reason Mary Poppins sang during their clean up time. If you are wanting to have quiet time with your kids, turn on some quiet classical music or some hymns to slow it down and bring them into softer moments. My kids love to dress up. We’ll turn on classical to dance in the ballerina and princess dresses. At other times, we’ll turn the music up and have crazy times. You might want to turn on some soft music before your husband walks in so that the kids can begin to calm to greet him in a lovely way. Quiet music before bedtime or during bath time is good too. Music can really help you create a mood in your home. Make sure that mood includes fun moments as well as calm moments.
