I love role playing with kids. It’s a fun way to train pre-emptively without having things as a lecture. Today, I whispered in the girls’ ears a scenario where they might need some sympathy or love. Then, the other one was suppose to respond with sincerity. Is it cheating to just “act” sincere. Does that go against everything I’m teaching? Well, it’s a good way for them to know what sympathy might look like. Here’s the situations I gave:
1. You hurt your foot.
2. Someone was mean to you, and it made you feel bad.
3. You did something wrong and need to make a sincere apology.
4. You are sad you can’t go over to a friend’s house to play.
