We want to teach our children the reason why we do things in this world. A bunch of rules without reason will never penetrate their hearts. So, why do we treat people well? Is it because we like them or they can benefit us in some way? Is it because they are talented or nice or fun? Of course that is a draw toward friendship. However, we treat people well because God breathed life into them. He created them and says they are valuable, so we have to treat them that way. Teaching kids this important tip will help them get to their heart with a “why” solution to how they choose to treat people. I am praying for my kids to have kind hearts as well. Abby will be entering school soon. I told her if I received a report that she was struggling a bit in reading and math, but the teacher said she is such a sweet girl who is so nice to everyone, I would be thrilled. We can work on the other stuff, but I am more concerned about her heart.
