If you can’t be sincere when talking to God, who created you and knows you through and through, who can you be sincere with? I wanted to start this week off teaching my girls how to be sincere as they talk to their Father in heaven. First, I read for them Matthew 6: 5-14 and simplified it for them with some explanation as well. Here’s the passage:
Prayer
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
After reading this with them and discussing about how God wants us to share from our hearts in a sincere way, we watched a video clip from Bruce Almighty. It was a bit over their heads, but I explained a bit more about what the scene contained.

Oh how I love Morgan Freeman in his role as God – he’s soo good! (Not as good as God of course, but he’s good=) I don’t know where you get all your ideas, but this is fabulous and I think it’s awesome. Thanks for sharing as you learn and teach your sweet babes. God bless you richly today!
