I write my kids letters on or around their birthdays. I have loved this tradition, and I think they will really appreciate it when they are older. I just re-read a couple of them, and it was so much fun. It was really interesting to read Abby’s letter that I’ve added a link to below as Corban is going to be 2 in about 4 months. It’s interesting to consider what things I was doing when I only had one child to care for. I need to get ore on it with my boy. When you only have one to focus on, it’s so much easier to give tons of time, teaching and guidance. Funny enough, when I had one I thought it was the hardest thing in the world. I have attached Abby’s 2 year old birthday letter as an example for you. I really do look forward to the day the girls can read these letters and maybe even have them to look at as they are raising their own children. I hope you’ll take a look and perhaps start this own tradition in your family. It’s not too late to start. Some of the things I try and include: personality, interests, favorites, behavior, things we are woking on, physical growth, and look.

Day #229 Tip – Write Letters on their Birthday
August 16, 2012 by 1 Comment

I keep meaning to do this every year and get frustrated with myself when I forget. I wrote a letter to each of my children when they were born, but unfortunately it stopped there. Not too late for me to maybe pen another one before the beginning of the schoolyear:)
