Day #222 Tip – Make a “To Do” list with Your Family on the Top

You will accomplish more in a day if you make a list. It’s fabulous to be able to cross things out. Add to your “to do” list things to do with or for the kids. Often our lists consists of bills, dishes, cleaning, sorting mail, laundry…you get the deal. It can begin to trump your time with the kids, so add them to your goal list. I have often heard from people who are through the phase with young kids in the home to put the cleaning list on the back burner to really enjoy this time. A remember reading of a mother who remembers one day her kids were begging her to go sledding with them. She was very, very tempted by her list. She just wanted to do the dishes. She went sledding. She has such amazing memories from that sledding day. She knows she would never have similar fond memories of dishes and was so thankful she just let it go. I do encourage you to make a written list…especially those late night where you lay in bed and have a things you need to do on your mind. Writing things down can help you fall asleep. However, just make sure your kids (and spouse actually) are at the top.
