As mentioned in today’s first post, we had our faith in action time with church. I have mentioned the Pritchards a lot in our blog because they’re good friends and have been great mentors for us. We were working together today because we are co-leaders of our small group at church. I was working close in proximity to Kelli, and her enthusiasm is contagious. Kids were encouraged by her, and she had a number of little helpers by her side because she was so excited about everything they said and were doing. I have no idea how she has the energy. You should hear her exclaim with excitement, “Oh, I love slumber parties.” Then, she led a 15 minute discussion, with enthusiasm, about all the wonderful things about slumber parties. She kept encouraging all the little ones around her. You can tell her excitement mad them excited. They were motivated to help longer, and they felt valued and listened to. It was a good encouragement to me as I’ve felt like grumpy mommy the last few days. I need to remember that a more positive spirit is contagious, and if my kids are off, it’s often because I am off.
