Day #199 – DIY Cup-and-Ball “Ball Toss”

Here’s a simple old school game that you can make out of a milk jug, rubber bands, a balloon and some rice (I used couscous). Click through to see how it’s done…

All you do is take a milk jug and cut it off so the handle still exists.

Next, use a funnel to fill up a balloon with either rice or couscous. Tie it off.

You’ll then want to cut rubber bands in half (you won’t want to use rubber bands that are too skinny) and tie them together to make a rubber band rope.

Cut a slit toward the small opening of your milk jug. Tie one end to the jug and the other end to the balloon.

Enjoy! I got this fabulous idea from A Mom with a Lesson Plan.

  1. Love the idea! I would think it would also be great fun to use water balloon and fill them with water – fun and a chance to cool off in the summer heat!

  2. Oh man! I bet that got hours of fun. My kids love to make things out of the recycle. Thanks for linking up at Mom’s Library!
