I want my kids to know that I’m on their team. I want them to see this family unit as a team – helping each other and supporting each other along the way. “Go Team (Last Name)” has been a phrase I started saying a while back, and I continue to throw it out. I say that when we have worked together to accomplish something. I say it if I see the kids supporting each other in a loving way. Making us a strong family unit is a long term goal I see for our family (not that I wouldn’t want it in the short term also). I want us to have each other’s backs and to have this family and our home as a safe place for the kids. Seeing ourselves as a team is all a part of that.
