Yesterday I talked about the older ones becoming a hero by being a servant leader. When the older ones are taught to be a servant leader, then the littler ones learn to respect their older brother or sister. We really want to eliminate the annoying little sibling syndrome by teaching the little kids to yield some of their will to their siblings. If the older one says, “I want to be left alone right now,” the younger ones respect that and spend time away. The younger ones need to learn to listen and often get out of the hair of the older ones. I want you to keep in mind that we have also taught the older ones to really care for and love the littler ones. When there is this mutual harmony, it reflects our own relationship with Jesus, the ultimate servant leader. Yes, there is submission, but it is done under loving leadership. There are so many ways they can yield to a loving older sibling. You really need to teach the younger ones to show a lot of respect by their words, actions and attitudes. It’s a learning process, but we see it really helping the fighting and general relationship they have with one another.
