Day #158 Tip – If Something Mean is Said…

We want to build up the sibling relationships in our home. We have had to really focus on it lately around here. Our girls have always gotten along well, but now it seems to be progressing into a bit of annoying each other. They’re still good friends, but I guess, as any human relationship, they can get on each other’s nerves. The other day, the first cutting thing was said. So, it’s time to start addressing that. We are going to adopt the rule that if something mean is said to another, they need to replace it (I guess it’s never really replaced) with 3 nice things. 1 Mean Comment = 3 Compliments.

  1. What a great idea! Wish I had thought of that when my kids were small. Thankfully, I can use it with my gra’kids. Very creative and I think this would be effective too. You’re a pretty smart mama. =)

    • I don’t know if I’m overly smart or just trying to seek out wisdom from others more experienced that I am. I guess that is smart in and of itself. I’m glad you’ll do this with your grand kids. I bet you’re a great grandma.
