· This is a huge question I often ask my kids during moments of disappointment with their actions. I want to get to their hearts. Part of that is helping them be empathetic toward the feelings of others. “How would it make you feel if someone took your toy away from you? How do you think it made your sister feel?” This tackles the core of their sense of morality and fairness (which is huge to kids). By reflecting on it, their future behavior will be impacted more rather than just a consequence for the outward actions.
