This is a quick, simple lesson that can really help your kids learn to use a writing utensil better. We think that it should be innate, but it’s not. I was actually surprised at how long it took my middle daughter to work this activity. I would tell her to go up down, up down to follow the path, and she would zig-zag the whole way. I tried to help with her hand and demonstrate, but it did take a while to catch on. I have to admit that I did more training with my older daughter by this age on beginning to write and draw. The more kids you pile in, the harder to make that one on one time. For this activity, all you do is draw a path. The kids then get to follow the path trying to stay off the black lines. They do it in three different colors for extended practice. I did it on the white board because they love the white board, and it’s pretty easy to erase and draw again. You can do it on paper or a chalk board.
Great idea!
Thank you.
What a great idea thanks for sharing, I am going to do it on our chalkboard with different color chalk
Cool. You’ll probably enjoy tomorrow’s post too…along the same lines as this one.
