Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies Amazing Delicious
This is one of those recipes passed down from my husband’s great grandmother.  No chocolate cookie, in our opinion, compares.  I thought I came into the marriage with the best chocolate chip cookie, but I have officially yielded my opinion.  This is also the cookie we delivered on our random act of kindness tour.
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup butter flavor shortening
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1 Tbsp water
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 to 2 1/4 cups flour
1 cup chocolate chips (the recipe calls for 3/4 cup, but we like a full cup)

Slightly melt butter and shortening in microwave (I did mine about 18 seconds).  Add sugar, water, eggs and vanilla.  Mix until creamy.  In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients.  Add dry ingredients and mix it all together.  Batter will be slightly creamy.  Add chocolate chips and stir in by hand.  Bake 10-12 minutes at 350.  We cook them about 10 minutes.  They don’t look 100% cooked at that point, but continue cooking and settle in when they get out of the oven.
