This is a quick simple activity you can do with kids of all ages and levels. I used a white board, but you can always use paper too. It’s an activity that will teach them to pay attention to details, to draw, to recognize patterns and shapes and to make visual judgements. Your child won’t make perfect copies, but their reasonable approximations should be praised. I tried to remind them to copy shapes, colors and sizes. You can make the drawings more or less complicated and build up to actual drawings of flowers, animals or houses. Older kids can get much more complicated versions. Certain drawings will challenge more. My oldest (almost 5) was able to do pretty well copying. My youngest (just 3) struggled more…part of it was her innate desire to do her own thing. It was a fun learning activity for both.
