Day #71 – Tame Your Tongue

It’s easy for my husband and I to get into a conversation and not think abut little ears listening.  We don’t cuss or swear or fight.  It’s the little things we are saying or ways we are reacting to people and every day situations.  It really demonstrates where I need to work on my own tongue when I start to consider what those little ears are hearing.  How do you comment about the leaders of our country?  Politics in general?  What do you say about the drivers around you?  You know the ones.  How do you talk about others?  Are you judgmental or do you show grace?  Are you showing respect to those in leadership – your boss, teachers, politicians, etc.  You can definitely disagree with statements and actions made, but just be careful on how you chose to use your words as you discuss important issues as well as every day interactions.  Our little sponges are absorbing everything.  This parenting process is as much of a refining process on us as it is on our kids.
