Day #70 Tip – Ask for Forgiveness

It’s going to be a powerful moment for your kids if you learn to ask them for forgiveness.  We parents are far from perfect.  We are going to mess up and not handle situations the way we should  Modeling the behavior of asking for forgiveness can be huge.  Have them see that you are willing to humble yourself and admit that you messed up.  Let them see you ask for forgiveness to your spouse too.  I recently heard an amazing speaker who talked about remember his dad coming into his classroom to take him aside to say “I’m sorry.”  What an amazing dad and a huge legacy.  Even our screw ups can be used for good, so look for those moments to impact your kids.  I’ve had to practice this a couple times these last couple of days.

  1. I’ve had to practice this this past week too. I am teaching my children a new way to apologize and ask for forgiveness and while modeling it to them, I truly had to ask for their forgiveness. Thanks for sharing!
