This is a safety issue for us. When I’m trying to manage a few little ones getting out of the car in a busy parking lot, I’ve found that best way to keep them safe and make it work is to train them to stand on the parking lines. You can practice at home by drawing out your own parking lot lines to have them practice on. You can also practice in a parking lot. It’s my first words as we step out of the car and has become an automatic for them.
