Reason Chosen:

This is their room. It was perfectly clean the day before. This happens every day. We really need to spend a week focusing on it. Things have gotten a bit better in the rest of the house, but we still need to make this a priority because it’s driving me a little loco.
Word Ring
At the beginning of each week, the craft will be exactly the same because we will simply be adding a new word to our already established word ring.

Materials Needed
* Stock Card Paper (I had a whole stack like this – found at any craft store)
* Assorted Sticker Letters (I just bought a bunch on clearance at Michael’s)
* Binder Clips (Craft Store)
* Paper Cutter or Scissors
* Hole Punch
The girls chose a paper style they thought would look good with the letters they chose. We then helped them sound out “orderliness.” They took turns finding the letters we needed and sticking them on the paper…they’re kids – the letters will not be stuck on perfect. I then cut the paper to the same size as the paper from last week. We punched a hole in the corner and stuck it on our binding clip. Each week, a new word will be added to the clip in similar fashion. I then wrote the Bible verse on the back. If your kids are older, have them do it themselves. We’ll spend this week learning the word, meaning and memorizing the scripture.

[...] “But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.” – 1 Corinthians 14:40 I came up with a really fun game to fit in with our character development series. I hope you’re joining along. Even if you are not doing the entire series, I think your kids would really enjoy this game. We did. It became my second work out of the day too as it is kind of like doing a shuttle run. You will want to gather a number of bins, each containing a different item. I had log cabin blocks, normal blocks, balls and bean bags. The first thing I did was have Kenzie help me set up the game. We just threw all of the items in the bin randomly around the yard. The rules are simple. When we say,”Go,” everyone starts running to collect an item, one at a time. You run back and put your item in the correct bin. I sat and kept points (at least for the first round…I played the rest of the time, and we each tried to keep our own points). Whoever was able to collect the most items, won. The kids absolutely loved this game. I always end one of these activities with the question, “What is our word of the week?” I also try and do the verse at the same time. That is the lead in to the lesson. This time Abby said, “Oh, I know. Our word is orderliness, and this is like when we leave all of our toys out. We have to put them away where they go to keep things organized.” Ah, melt my heart. Are things sinking in? Hopefully. I’m so glad we get to focus on this trait again this week.
