This is a reminder for myself more than anyone else. I feed my babies for way too long because I don’t like the mess of the clothes, the floor, the tray, the chair, the body…you get the picture. I know, however, how important it is to let them learn to feed themselves. Corban has shown a lot of desire for independence in this task, and I know it develops confidence as he starts to build these skills. So, I am reminding myself today, “Let him get messy as he tries things on his own.”
HA! That’s my husband to a T. He says he would still be spoon feeding our 2 and half year old if I let him, just so we won’t have to clean up the mess! That picture looks like oatmeal – which ends up in the strangest places. LOL
It does! He is loving eating on his own, and now I don’t even get an option. Glad he is gaining that independence…despite the mess.
