To be a good parent, sometimes I think it’s beneficial to get away and recharge. My husband was invited to drum at a three day conference, and we jumped right on it. Not only is it an opportunity for my husband to use his talents to glorify God, but it was a great way for us to get away together. Another bonus is that we are going to be there with one of my dearest friends. My kids get the benefit of having their grandparents invest even more into their lives. Seems like a winning situation all around. To be able to invest in our marriage and have a bit of down time to gear up for the intense time of daily parenting is wonderful. We will come back re-charged and will be better parents because of it. Other than my relationship with God, my relationship with my husband is the most important and is the foundation for being a good parent. I will be pre-writing my next few days of posts, so please still check in.

You are so right, Jodi! Getting away with your hubby is so important!! Enjoy every minute!!!
We are having such a nice time. They play some times where they are rehearsing, and I get some alone time. We are having a great time as a couple. We have friends here, so we’ve had fun time playing games and having coffee together. There is a wonderful and challenging speaker. Couldn’t be better. Thanks!
I agree. Sometimes you can get caught up in life and parenting to forget about spending that quality time with your spouse. Doing that will not only keep you sane, but it will keep your marriage going. ♥
Completely. I know marriages that have ended because the mom began to invest only in their children, leaving the spouse behind in the process. I know it often goes deeper than just that, but nurturing this marriage is so important.
