We all know the situation. “Abby, can you please pick up your dress and hang it up?” Glare. Huff. Abrupt sweep of the floor. Throwing the closet door open. Grumbling while it’s being hung up. Hmm… not the kind of obeying we’re looking for. We want our kids to obey with the right attitude. Therefore, the next words from me are, “OK – Try it again.” The dress comes back out of the closet and is tossed on the floor. It needs to be done with the right attitude before it’s considered obeying.
