Patience
“And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.” 1 Thessalonians 5:14 NIV
Today I found a cute story online about a boy trying to make an apple tree grow. It took patience, time and care to make it work, and at points he was discouraged. I read this story to my kids.
After reading the story, we made our own apple trees. We simply painted a paper plate green. I had the girls cut out “apples” out of red paper, and they stuck them in the wet paint. After letting that dry, I cut a slit in a paper towel tube and stuck the plate in. I actually had to cut my plate too because it was a plate with a rim. This tree can be a reminder of patience.
Confession: While working on this project I completely lost my patience with the kids.

Hi there!
I just found your blog and am so keen to spend some time here
.
I smiled a big smile at your confession at the end – that’s me through and through – doing crafts with the kids to have fun and teach and create – and then me losing my patience in the process!
:)
I look forward to reading further.
