In our family we like to say, “obey right away, all the way.” Because of that, we try to avoid counting. You always hear mom’s saying things like, ” Come here.” Then, the child ignores the request. Next comes the counting, “5…4…3…2…1.” We feel like this is a form of disobedience, so we just try not to count but strive for immediate obedience.
